Find an employer for your apprenticeship or traineeship
There are 2 ways you can be employed as an apprentice or trainee:
- directly by a business
- or
- by a group training organisation that will place you with one or more host employers.
While we can't find you an employer to hire you as an apprentice or trainee, our below tips may assist you to find an employer:
- visit specific apprenticeship/traineeship job boards
- contact local businesses in your chosen industry
- use job search and government vacancies websites – enter a job title with 'apprentice' or 'trainee' and your chosen industry to narrow down results

- Indeed Australia
- Jobs Hub (Australian Government)
- Jora
- Seek
- Skillsroad
- Workforce Australia (Australian Government)
- contact stakeholders of the apprenticeship and traineeship system, such as training providers, local TAFEs and Apprentice Connect Australia Providers, who may know of employment opportunities
- contact the Apprentice Employment Network to find a group training organisation—they will place you with different employers (hosts) but are responsible for providing you with training and wages
- use personal networks—ask friends, colleagues, parents and relatives.
